Improvement in the working life of a micro journal bearings with an electroless Ni–P coating

The improvement of working life is the main purpose this paper to evaluate mechanical properties electroless Ni–P coatings radial micro journal bearings. study was carried out using different plating parameter combinations, namely, pH values solution (6, 7, and 8), deposition time (10, 20, 30 min), bath temperature (60, 80, 95 °C). structure, surface morphology, hardness, wear resistance were measured analyzed. optimum combination parameters for minimum a value 8, min, °C. When film annealed at 400 °C, roughness can get best 960 HV, 0.1 mg, 0.177 ?m, respectively, because coating has changed from an amorphous phase crystalline composite (Ni + Ni3P) structure. However, as annealing continues increase; wear, begin deteriorate. coherent relationship broken, grains will grow, tensile stress increase.
